Aircraft Emergency at Westchester County Airport

Incident Date: Saturday, January 2, 2021

On Saturday, January 2nd, 2021, the department was dispatched for an Aircraft Emergency at the Westchester County Airport. Along with our department, the response brought fire and ems units from Purchase, Armonk, Port Chester, Rye Brook and other neighboring departments. Units responded and were updated that the airplane was on the grass off the main runway with Airport Fire Personnel on scene. Engine 266 responded with Captain Barbegallo, Lieutenant Mancini and firefighters C. Forgione, M. Forgione, M. Pellegrino, and C. Mancini. Chief Galluzzo (2501) was the staging officer on scene during the incident. Members stretched a precautionary line with HPN ARFF units on scene until the plane was safely removed from the runway.
