Tropical Storm Ida

During Tropical Storm Ida on September 8th-September 9th the West Harrison Fire Department responded to over 40 calls for service in a 24 hour period. These calls ranged from flooded basements, downed wires, gas emergencies, fire alarms, swift water rescue’s from people trapped in cars, and mutual aid responses to surrounding cities and villages such as White Plains, and Port Chester and Purchase. Our members without hesitation went directly into the storm. Numerous lives were saved due to the dedication and skill set of our members. From the Officers here at West Harrison Thank you to the numerous volunteers to dedicated there time in responding to this natural disaster that will go down in the history books.
